This module is designed for doctors who have never successfully completed the Stream 1 module and do not hold this accreditation. Accreditation requires you to attend the session and complete the assessment tasks successfully.
Successful completion of the module will lead to the award of Urological System accreditation.
Stream 2 – If you have already successfully completed the Stream 1 module and you want to undertake continuing education, then you are encouraged to enrol in the Urological System Stream 2 Module.
Stream 2 modules do not have any assessment requirements, and they will help you improve your proficiency by updating your skills in applying the AMA4 Guides and/or other prescribed assessment methods.
Module information
This module teaches the approach required from parts of Chapter 11 of the Guides to assess permanent impairment of the urinary system and the male reproductive system.
The module covers:
- The methodology for evaluating upper urinary tract impairment, including loss of kidney and assessment of overall upper urinary tract impairment.
- The methodology to evaluate for evaluating upper Bladder, Urethra and Urinary Diversions.
- The methodology for evaluation the male reproductive organs including the penis, scrotum, testes, epididymides, prostate and spermatic cords.
- Apportionment of impairment to disentangle what impairment may or may not be related to a compensable event.
