This is a Stream 1 module and it’s designed for doctors who have never successfully completed the Stream 1 module and do not hold this accreditation. Accreditation requires you to complete the online modules as well as successfully completing the module assessment.

Successful completion of the module will lead to the awarding of the Hematopoietic System accreditation

Module information

This module covers the evaluation criteria from Chapter 7 of the Guides (the Hematopoietic System). The module includes the:

• Methodology in Chapter 7 to evaluate impairment of disorders of red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, coagulation proteins and the immune defence system.
• Approach to assess impairment from splenectomy.
• Approach to be taken to assess impairment associated with permanent need for use of blood thinners.
